Season 18 of IMPACT100 was a fantastic season of giving! Congratulations to the winning nonprofit True North which received a $10,000 grant. True North provides services to individuals with disabilities in the Steamboat Springs, CO area to enhance their quality of life, both socially and in work and educational settings. Services are provided in a safe and consistent manner, tailored to the individual needs and wants of the individual along with the desires of their families. Service providers offer unique ways for clients to overcome obstacles and achieve their personal life goals, becoming as independent within the community as possible.
Integrated Community and Senior Social Center were the other finalist nonprofits for Season 18, with Integrated Community awarded $5,000 and the Senior Social Center receiving $2,000.
The educational aspect of the program, intended to expose community members to smaller nonprofits within the community, was a huge success. After the semi-final event, where 11 organizations each gave an “elevator pitch” about their work, two anonymous donors were each inspired to give $1,000 to each of the 11 semi-finalists. All of the presentations, at the semi-finals and finals, were inspired and informative. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated!
Since its launch in the Yampa Valley in 2006, IMPACT100 has granted $225,800 to 59 local nonprofit organizations.
IMPACT100 is a program designed to promote local philanthropy and community engagement. The concept of pooling resources from at least 100 people – each donating a minimum of $100 – to support local nonprofit organizations is a great way to make a meaningful impact. Three social and educational events throughout the season provide an opportunity for members to learn about various nonprofits and make informed decisions about where the funds should be allocated.
