Free tax preparation through AARP Foundation Tax-Aide
Tax-Aide Volunteers will be providing free tax preparation assistance to Routt and Moffat County residents beginning February 25th through April 15th 2023, on Mondays and Saturdays by appointment only, at the Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat Springs.
Because of the complexity of the U.S. tax code, many taxpayers overpay their taxes or turn to paid tax services they cannot afford. Some may forgo filing their taxes and miss out on the credits and deductions they’ve earned because they are unable to pay for assistance. This free service is being provided through AARP Foundation with the assistance of the Yampa Valley Community Foundation.
Tax-Aide Volunteers are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service. The volunteers offer free tax return preparation to anyone who needs it, regardless of age or income, as long as the preparation stays within the scope of tax law and policies set by the IRS and AARP Foundation.
For more information call 970-425-3855 or email 61052703@aarpfoundation and a local volunteer will contact you.
