The South Routt Community Corporation (SRCC) has received a short-term $75,000 bridge loan from the Yampa Valley Community Foundation to renovate the first floor of the Community Center in Oak Creek.

Due to an upcoming remodel and expansion of South Routt Medical Center for its own use, outside tenants, such as UCHealth SportsMed Clinic – Oak Creek, are losing use of that facility. UCHealth and SRCC have entered into a long-term lease agreement for use of a portion of the Community Center, operated by SRCC, which will allow uninterrupted delivery of physical therapy services in South Routt County. To make the Community Center appropriate for medical services, a remodel is necessary to incorporate a private treatment room, a changing area and an accessible bathroom.

“UCHealth is committed to not only delivering care close to home, but to helping people get back to the activities they love,” said Ryan Larson, director of clinic operations for UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center. “We have provided physical therapy services in South Routt for nearly 25 years and are glad to have this new space in which to continue those services.”

The low-cost loan to SRCC covers the immediate remodel construction costs and facilitates an accelerated construction timeline. UCHealth will reimburse SRCC for all costs and will make additional, significant investments through IT infrastructure, furniture, fixtures, and equipment to improve the space and ready it for patient care.

With a relatively small, short-term loan, the Foundation’s Impact Investment Program is generating several community benefits. The loan allows SRCC to move forward with the remodel project with a fiscally responsible financing plan. Residents of South Routt County will continue to be able to access important medical services without experiencing a disruption in treatment. Finally, placing a long-term tenant creates a sustainable funding source and improved financial viability for the Community Center itself and, consequently, stability for its other nonprofit tenants.

Mary Alice Page-Allen, Secretary/Treasurer of the SRCC Board of Directors, says “We appreciate UCHealth’s desire to remain in South Routt to provide physical therapy services. The quick bridge loan from Yampa Valley Community Foundation allowed the project to come together and maintain continuity of services, and in an expanded location. It’s partnerships like these with UCHealth and Yampa Valley Community Foundation that remind us that when we work together, good things happen.”
