Two local Nonprofits tell how they would make and IMPACT:
IMPACT100 1st Presentation Party
The word Impact is defined as “have a strong effect on someone or something”. The challenge of the IMPACT100 group is to listen to four local nonprofits and decide who will make the greatest Impact in the Yampa Valley. At the November 21st event, we heard from Friends of the Yampa and Young Tracks.
Friends of the Yampa explained to the group of over 100 attendees that starting in the summer of 2020, Friends of the Yampa will develop an annual river program that will educate Routt and Moffat county teenagers on Yampa River watershed, conservation, and river focused environmental topics while utilizing experiential float trips to teach participants how to plan, prepare for and float the Yampa River in a safe and sustainable manner.
Young Tracks detailed how their at-home visitations change the lives and confidence of the kids who attend their program. The group has been able to perform a few at-home visits and the results for the kids have included breakthroughs in confidence and being able to excel in a greater capacity at Young Tracks, socially, emotionally and academically.
At the second presentation party on February 13, we will hear from Planned Parenthood and Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide (REPS).
