Moffat County Dog Park receives funding for Handicapped Access Ramp

written by the Moffat County Humane Society

A handicapped-accessible paved walkway, funded in part by a generous grant from the Yampa Valley Community Foundation, was recently completed at the Craig Dog Park.

Establishing a community dog park in Craig has been a long term goal of the Humane Society of Moffat County. The dream became a reality when the dog park opened in October 2019, due to additional funding from the Yampa Valley Community Foundation.

Located on Jeffcoat Drive, access to the dog park was down a steep, often slippery grass slope. This approach was difficult, due to its steepness and frequently damp ground.

The dog park is now fully and safely handicapped accessible. The Humane Society of Moffat County and the community of Craig are deeply appreciative of the generosity of the Yampa Valley Community Foundation for providing a safe entry to the dog park for the enjoyment of our community for years to come.
