LEARN-TO-RIDE BIKE PROGRAMS IN SIX ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS FULLY FUNDED BY COMMUNITY

Steamboat Springs, CO – Starting this Spring, every Routt County kindergartner will have the opportunity to learn to ride a bike.  Through a coordinated community effort, donors and grants came together to fully fund the All Kids Bike® Learn-to-Ride Program at Soda Creek Elementary, Strawberry Park Elementary, North Routt Community Charter School, South Routt Elementary, Hayden Valley Elementary, and Mountain Village Montessori Charter School.  The program includes Strider Learn-To-Ride Bikes, helmets, and curriculum. Moffat County Dog Park receives funding for Handicapped Access Ramp written by the Moffat County Humane Society A handicapped-accessible paved walkway, funded in part by a generous grant from the Yampa Valley Community Foundation, was recently completed at the Craig Dog Park. Giving Circles Grant Over $103,000 in 2020

Quality of life, especially toward the end of life, is priceless. That’s why Northwest Colorado Health submitted a proposal to Yampa Valley Community Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle for consideration of funding in August 2020. The client, we will call her Norma, is a retired woman over 65 with lung cancer. With her illness preventing her from working and the costs of her treatments driving her family into bankruptcy, she was unable to afford a portable oxygen concentrator, and thus was unable to leave her home due to the weight of the non-portable machine tanks. 2021 Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund Grant Announcement

Steamboat Springs, CO – For the fifth consecutive year, the Yampa Valley Community Foundation has announced issuing grants from the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund (TMEF). The fund will provide three grants totaling $19,300 to three local land managers.  Decisions are made on how to spend TMEF revenue by a board comprised of four land managers, one representative from the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association, and two community members at large.
