#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020, designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for nonprofits around the world and in our own Yampa Valley communities. Donate between now and midnight on May 5 at YVGives.org, a safe and secure platform that provides direct links to give to Yampa Valley nonprofits in one easy transaction.

While much of the conversation about charitable giving has rightfully centered around the COVID19 pandemic, almost every nonprofit in the Yampa Valley has been severely impacted by the current crisis and needs support. Like the Health and Human Services nonprofits that directly serve those impacted by COVID19, organizations that serve the Arts, Environment, Recreation, and Education are vital to the vibrancy of our communities. Many have had to cancel or postpone fundraisers and events which provide critical funding to sustain the operations, services and programs that they offer. #GivingTuesdayNow is a day to come together and give back so that our nonprofits can sustain through these times and remain an integral part of the fabric of the Yampa Valley.

In addition to #GivingTuesdayNow, the annual “Yampa Valley Gives Day” is still set to coincide with Colorado Gives Day on December 8, 2020 to support the ongoing needs of Colorado nonprofits, and GivingTuesday is also planning for its traditional event on December 1.

#GivingTuesdayNow emphasizes opportunities to give back to communities and causes in safe ways that allow for social connection and kindness even while practicing physical distancing – whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, every act of generosity counts.

Yampa Valley Community Foundation’s COVID19 Response Fund also continues to provide critical funding to the organizations on the front lines of the pandemic, and a generous $25,000 matching challenge for donations to the fund is set to begin on May 5 to coincide with #GivingTuesdayNow.
