Recently, YVCF received a grant request outside our typical funding cycle.  The request was to fund the Babson-Carpenter Career and Technical Education Center.  This center has a goal to provide the opportunity for youth to learn a career in the technical trades. This program request targets  high school students who are considering  dropping out, students on individualized education plans (IEP’s), students disenfranchised by traditional school, students of single parents, students receiving free or reduced lunch and students who just need hands-on learning to bring mathematics and science to life. The funding will pay for an instructor, food for the students, welding certification testing, welding consumables and transportation costs. YVCF connected this granting opportunity with donors and now the program is fully funded. YVCF is proud to connect people who care with causes that matter.
